Dates and hours: the summer fair has finished

The official 2026 event listing describes 23 operating days between July 17 and August 16, with a Wednesday–Sunday schedule. It lists 11 a.m. opening each day and later closing on Friday and Saturday. These were the summer fair’s hours, not year-round opening hours for every attraction at the property.

Before arranging another visit, check the specific event and year. OC Fair & Event Center hosts activities outside the annual fair, and a concert or exhibition on the calendar does not mean the full summer fair is operating.

The current admission page retains a 2026 sales heading while also saying visitors will be welcomed next year. Do not treat the old heading as evidence that the completed fair is still open or that a ticket is valid for a future edition.

Tickets and the full cost of the day

The 2026 event listing gives adult admission of $13 on Wednesday and Thursday or $18 Friday–Sunday, $10 for seniors 65+, $9 for children 6–12 and free admission for ages five and under. Car and motorcycle parking was $15. Those figures describe purchases during the completed fair.

For two adults and two children ages 6–12, those listed admission rates plus one parking payment added up to $59 on Wednesday or Thursday, or $69 Friday–Sunday. Food, carnival purchases and separately ticketed entertainment would increase that total. Use the example to understand the categories, then replace every amount with current prices.

Buy only after checking the valid date, entry conditions and what the product includes. Older advance-sale bundles and deadlines should be treated as expired. A package is useful when its contents fit your plans, not merely because the advertised combined value is large.

Things to do beyond carnival rides

The organizer’s 2026 family guide lists racing pigs, a petting farm, educational exhibits, crafts and community stages among the activities included with admission. It also highlights the Explorium’s Sand and Sea experience. These are examples from the completed program, not a guaranteed future lineup.

Pick a few experiences with different rhythms. An exhibit, an animal-focused stop and a live performance can make the outing varied without requiring constant purchases. Use the new daily program to find the correct locations and times when it becomes available.

Give yourself time to look closely at competition displays rather than treating them as a shortcut between rides. Art, gardening or food-related exhibits can be especially interesting when you choose a subject someone in the group already enjoys.

Shows and concerts: read the individual listing

A community-stage performance, a carnival attraction and a reserved-seat concert can have different admission arrangements. Check the exact venue, start time and ticket terms before assuming a general fair ticket covers a particular show.

For a concert-focused outing, make the performance the fixed point and build food and browsing around it. Leave time for parking and entry. If the show is outside the annual fair dates, do not assume the summer fair attractions will be available beforehand.

The venue’s Equal Access guide describes accessible seating arrangements for Pacific Amphitheatre, The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. Contact the venue about the specific show if seating or another accommodation is essential to your visit.

Location and arrival planning

The fairgrounds are at 88 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa, near the 55 and 405 freeways and the 73 toll road. Use the official maps and the current event instructions for the actual entrance and parking approach; the street address is only a starting point.

Allow time beyond the drive itself for parking, walking and any entry procedures. Keep the return location saved, especially if a group separates or uses rideshare. A late performance can change the transport options that remain practical afterward.

Visitors who need accessible parking should know that the venue describes spaces as limited and first-come. Review current arrangements and ask about the route from parking to your chosen venue rather than assuming a prepaid product reserves a particular space.

Families, strollers and a manageable route

Our OC Fair with kids guide covers show choices, ride planning and practical stroller decisions. Start with what the youngest or least mobile member of the party needs, then add the attractions everyone most wants to see.

Choose one timed show and a few nearby flexible stops. A stroller can make a longer outing more manageable, but it also needs somewhere to wait while the group attends an activity. Keep belongings organized so that a short stop does not require unpacking everything.

Agree on food and ride spending before arriving. Free child admission does not cover every purchase inside, and a child’s admission age category does not determine whether they meet an individual ride’s height requirements.

Use year-round attractions carefully

The venue FAQ describes Centennial Farm and Heroes Hall as year-round attractions with exceptions for holidays and all-grounds events. Their normal admission or opening arrangements should not be substituted for annual fair rules. Check the specific attraction’s current hours for a non-fair visit.

This distinction is useful if you are visiting Costa Mesa outside the summer fair. You may still find something of interest at the property, but it will be a different outing with its own schedule and access conditions.

Before leaving home, verify the edition, operating day, current tickets, weather and any required support. Keep the daily program available offline and leave one part of the outing flexible for an unexpected queue or a discovery you want to explore.
