Choose a morning launch or evening glow
The 2026 schedule lists 7 a.m. Mass Ascensions on October 3, 4, 7, 10 and 11. October 7 includes Flight of the Nations. Special Shape Rodeo mornings are October 8–9, also at 7 a.m. All times are local.
Evening balloon glows are ground-based displays: balloons illuminate while remaining on the field. Choose a morning if seeing balloons take flight is your priority. An evening suits visitors who prefer the illuminated display and can accommodate a later finish. Neither option guarantees inflation or flight when conditions are unsuitable.
Build the rest of your day around that choice. A sunrise visit followed by an ambitious full-day itinerary can be tiring. A leisurely breakfast or flexible afternoon activity leaves room to recover without rushing away from the experience you came to see.

Current online general admission is $22.24, including the stated fee, for one morning or evening session. Children 12 and younger enter free. The organizer says standard 2026 tickets can be used for any one session that year. Purchase through the official ticket page; check the final total and product conditions.
Music Fiesta has its own ticket arrangements. Standard festival entry does not grant access to its concert area. Likewise, admission does not include a balloon ride. Decide whether your goal is field viewing, a concert or flying before comparing prices; these are different purchases.

The official Park & Ride combines transport and festival admission and must match a date, session and boarding time. There is no service Monday through Wednesday. Remote locations include Cottonwood Mall, Coronado Center and Hoffmantown Church; Intel operates on weekends only. Follow the specific lot instructions on your ticket.
Driving provides a different kind of flexibility, but it does not remove queues. The visitor FAQ lists general parking at $20 cash per session. Save the current directions before departure and let event traffic staff override your navigation app when necessary. Photograph your lot marker and gate so you can retrace the route later.
When comparing transport costs, total the whole party. A bundled bus fare can be convenient for a solo traveler while a family needs to account for every paid rider. Include the return journey, not just arrival: confirm when your bus service ends and where it collects passengers.
Plan an early arrival and a simple field visit
The organizer recommends arriving around 4–4:30 a.m. for weekend morning events. Gates open at 4:30 a.m.; evening gates open at 3 p.m. Treat a scheduled launch time as the event start, not the time to begin parking. Allow space for screening and walking.
Once inside, identify a meeting point and avoid spreading your group across the field. Follow pilots, crews and launch directors, giving balloon fabric and equipment a wide berth. Pause in a place that leaves other visitors room to pass rather than stopping abruptly in a busy route for photographs.
Dress for the forecast and for standing outdoors before sunrise. Bring layers you can carry easily as the day changes, comfortable shoes, water and a charged phone. Save your tickets offline; a screenshot or printed backup reduces dependence on connectivity at the gate.
Accessibility and what to pack
The accessibility page identifies ADA parking in the Ascension and Sunrise lots, with accommodations in other lots. Spaces are first come, first served and retain the $20 cash session charge. Courtesy shuttles assist travel around the site. Limited mobility-equipment rentals are offered near the north and south information booths.

Tickets are nonrefundable. For an officially rain-checked session, the organizer says the ticket is reactivated as general admission for a remaining session in the same year. Keep it and follow official instructions; that is not a cash refund or a promise of suitable weather next time.
