In the NWS overview checked at 19:53 UTC on September 27, forecasters expected the nor’easter to weaken overnight, with coastal flooding and beach conditions improving. NWS reported that Nolo was moving away from Hawaii: heavy-rain and flooding threats were diminishing, while strong winds and large waves continued. That does not establish an all-clear for every island or marine area.
The Honolulu offshore forecast issued September 27 at 5:25 a.m. HST (15:25 UTC) retained a hurricane warning for its marine forecast area, beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240 nautical miles. It forecast hurricane conditions south of 19°N on Sunday and west of 160°W on Monday. This offshore product is not an island-wide land hurricane warning. These are year-to-date national totals, not the number of fires burning at this moment. The page states that its report is currently updated on Fridays.
