October 13, 2026 update: The Street Fair page still contains conflicting admission wording: the navigation says free entry, while the detailed section lists paid weekend tickets and Friday, November 20, as free. Check the dated ticket selection or organizer before budgeting a Saturday or Sunday visit. This update rechecks admission wording only.
Last checked: October 2, 2026.
Miami Book Fair is scheduled for November 15–22, 2026, with its outdoor Street Fair on November 20–22. The distinction matters: an evening author conversation and a weekend of browsing book stalls are different visits. This Miami Book Fair guide explains the dates, published admission options and how to choose sessions without mistaking an older program for the upcoming edition.

Choose a Street Fair day or an author-focused visit
The Street Fair page lists Friday and Saturday hours of 10 a.m.–7 p.m. and Sunday hours of 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with gates opening at 9 a.m. Those are Street Fair hours, not a timetable for every program across the full eight-day festival.
For browsing, choose a day and leave the schedule open enough for books, food and conversations. For a particular author, work backward from the dated session: check its room, start time and ticket instructions before deciding when to travel. A weekend admission purchase does not establish access to a separate evening event.
Understand the published admission table
The organizer lists single-day prices of $12 for adults, $7 for seniors over 62 and $5 for teenagers ages 13–18. Multiday prices are $18, $12 and $8 respectively. Children 12 and younger enter free, as do Miami Dade College students, faculty and staff with valid MDC identification. Friday is free for everyone.
The site’s navigation also contains a broad free-entry message. This guide follows the more specific Street Fair admission table; verify the actual dated ticket selection before paying. Book purchases, food and separately ticketed author programs need their own budget. Do not treat a Street Fair ticket as an all-inclusive festival pass.
Find authors through dated session listings
The author directory is a starting point for finding writers, but a biography alone does not establish a 2026 appearance time. Open the associated event and check its year, venue and admission terms. Save those details beside each name on your shortlist.
At this check, the downloadable Fair Guide page still explicitly offered a 2025 guide. This article therefore does not present that document’s authors or timetable as the 2026 lineup. Recheck the current program as the festival approaches, particularly before making a nonrefundable travel booking for one writer.
Choose one priority session and one alternative for the same part of the day. Leave time after a conversation if a signing is announced. Check whether a book is included, must be purchased separately or is subject to a particular signing rule; a seat at a talk and a personalized inscription are different expectations.
Arrive at the correct downtown entrance
The 2026 overview advertises free parking at the Wolfson Campus garage during November 15–22. The garage is at 500 NE Second Avenue, with entry from NE Fifth Street. For driving directions, the organizer gives 145 NE Fifth Street; allow for the walk from the garage to an event entrance.
The separate directions page still contains older November 16–23 parking dates, so use the explicitly updated 2026 overview for this edition’s date range. Parking availability is not a reserved space. Keep a paid alternative in mind and follow temporary street closures rather than driving to the campus’s general address as though every approach remains open.
The transport page describes Metrorail connections through Government Center and Metromover stops at College Bayside or College North. Check the operator’s current service before departure and save the return route too. For a ride-share, confirm the current designated drop-off rather than choosing an arbitrary closed street.
Make room for children and access needs
Children’s Alley runs alongside the Street Fair weekend. Families can use our Miami Book Fair with kids guide to plan a manageable outing while the detailed 2026 activity schedule is being updated. Avoid combining several long adult panels with an already full children’s itinerary.
The accessibility page says grounds and venues are wheelchair accessible. For interpreting or assistive listening arrangements, it requests contact 72 business hours before the event; call 305-237-3072 during the stated weekday office hours. Personal assistants may attend without charge. Confirm the particular room and route when arranging assistance.
Build a practical reading-day itinerary
Start with the one conversation you most want, add browsing nearby and leave a meal break. Carry a manageable book bag and reserve room for purchases. A brief list of desired titles makes browsing more purposeful without removing the pleasure of an unexpected discovery.
Before setting out, check the dated program again, save tickets and identify the entrance closest to your first venue. Bag checks are part of entry, so allow arrival time. If your first session changes, switch to the alternative you chose rather than trying to squeeze another distant venue into an already tight schedule.
