The F1 2027 calendar has been announced, with 24 Grands Prix across 22 countries, beginning in Bahrain on March 12–14 and ending in Abu Dhabi on December 10–12. There are ten Sprint weekends. Portugal returns to the schedule, while Türkiye is listed subject to FIA circuit homologation. This is the published 2027 calendar, not a projection based on the previous season.
For fans planning a race trip, dates are only the first decision. A city-center street circuit, a rural permanent track and an airport-side venue create very different hotel and transport needs. This guide pairs the full schedule with a geographic map, ticket checks and practical destination comparisons. The race weekends are confirmed as published, with the Türkiye condition retained; detailed session times, local transport operations and individual ticket availability still need separate checks before you commit to a trip.

Türkiye remains subject to FIA circuit homologation. Keep that condition attached to the listing when using it for travel planning. All calendars can later be amended by the organizers; recheck the live official schedule before purchasing nonrefundable travel.
F1 race locations map

The map numbers match the rounds above. It uses approximate circuit coordinates and separate regional panels for orientation; the panels have different scales. Lines between crowded markers and their points are label pointers, not travel routes. Use an event’s own gate and transport map for the final approach.
What changed for 2027?
The published season starts in Bahrain, followed by Saudi Arabia, before the Australia–Japan–China sequence. Portugal appears in June at Portimão. The Spanish round is in Madrid, so a travel plan built around Barcelona would target the wrong host location. Türkiye is in the October schedule with the explicit homologation condition.
The number of Sprint weekends rises to ten. That changes the character of more weekends, but it does not make every Friday or Saturday schedule identical. Check the current sporting format and session times once published for your race. Travel advice based on a previous year’s practice timetable can leave you arriving after an important session.
The ten Sprint venues
Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Canada, Monaco, Great Britain, Italy, São Paulo, Qatar and Abu Dhabi are the announced Sprint hosts. If you want the full competitive weekend, arrive before the first public session you plan to attend. A Friday flight that looked convenient for a conventional weekend may be less attractive when the schedule is busier.
Pre-season testing in Bahrain on February 24–27 is separate from the championship. Do not assume testing admission, public opening hours or ticket benefits from the race weekend. Check any spectator offering as its own event.
Which Grand Prix is right for your trip?
Start with the kind of travel experience you want, then compare ticket and hotel availability. A famous race is not automatically the easiest first race. Some destinations reward a city stay with public transport; others require a carefully booked circuit transfer and a long day outside.
| Trip priority | Destinations to compare | Main question before booking |
|---|---|---|
| City sightseeing alongside racing | Singapore, Montréal, Madrid, Melbourne | Does the hotel connect well with the correct entry gate? |
| A classic European racing weekend | Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Austria | How will you handle the final transfer and return? |
| A coastal extension | Monaco / French Riviera, Portugal / Algarve | Are the leisure base and circuit journey compatible? |
| U.S. race and city break | Miami, Austin, Las Vegas | Is the venue where you think it is, and what roads close? |
| Late-season warm-weather trip | Qatar, Abu Dhabi | How do the evening schedule and transfer work? |
| A longer cultural journey | Japan, Mexico City, São Paulo, Istanbul | Can you add rest and sightseeing without overloading race days? |
These are editorial comparisons, not a price ranking. Check actual quotes for your dates. A race with an affordable ticket can still become expensive because of flights, room minimums and repeated transfers.
Destination travel briefs
Bahrain and Saudi Arabia: the March opening pair
Bahrain’s circuit is at Sakhir, so compare a city hotel and its race transfer as a combined plan. Do not assume accommodation near the airport is also near the circuit. Bahrain International Airport is the main gateway to investigate; the final road journey and event pickup point deserve as much attention as the airfare.
Jeddah follows one week later. Combining the two rounds requires separate entry checks, flights and accommodation rather than simply extending a hotel booking. If you choose one race, arrive early enough to recover from the journey and confirm the local evening timetable. Keep sightseeing on a different day from a long race-day transfer.
Melbourne: combine the race with a city stay
Albert Park places the Australian round within Melbourne’s urban setting. Compare a central base with the event’s eventual public-transport and gate plan. A hotel that looks close across the park may still require a substantial walk to the entrance assigned to your ticket.
Long-haul travelers should allow recovery time before the first session. The April 2–4 weekend is a Sprint round, making a late arrival less attractive if you want to see the whole program. Add a full sightseeing day before or after racing rather than trying to fit a distant excursion into a session break.
Japan: Suzuka is not central Nagoya
Nagoya can be a practical base to investigate, with Chubu Centrair, NGO, a relevant airport search. Suzuka requires onward travel, and the final leg depends on the event’s rail, bus and walking arrangements. Confirm the actual station and shuttle plan before deciding a hotel is convenient.
Because April 9–11 is a Sprint weekend, give yourself time to learn the journey before the busiest sessions. Book any reserved transport required by the official plan and inspect the return timetable. A cultural extension in Japan can work well, but keep luggage transfers and intercity travel away from race morning.
Miami: the circuit is in Miami Gardens
Miami International Autodrome is at the stadium complex in Miami Gardens, not on South Beach. Compare Miami International, MIA, and Fort Lauderdale, FLL, using the total journey to your chosen hotel. A beach holiday and a race-focused stay can both work, but they create different daily transfers.
Aventura, airport-area accommodation and central Miami bases each deserve a look depending on your priorities. Check the promoter’s current parking or transfer offer before booking a room around a presumed pickup point. Use the Miami travel guide for the non-racing days and the Florida destinations guide for a longer extension.
Montréal: plan the island approach
The Canadian Grand Prix uses Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on Île Notre-Dame. Compare central accommodation with the published event transport plan and the walk from transit to your grandstand. The final approach matters even when the wider city has a useful public-transport network.
May 21–23 is a Sprint weekend. Keep a weather layer and permitted rain protection in mind, and check what your ticket allows you to carry. A city day before racing is useful for orientation; a Monday departure gives more flexibility than a tight Sunday airport connection.
Monaco: a Riviera base can work
Nice Côte d’Azur, NCE, is a practical airport to compare, and Nice or Menton can serve as alternatives to staying in Monaco itself. Investigate rail connections, the last useful return service and the walk to the correct spectator entrance. Road closures mean a normal driving route may not work during the event.
Monaco is a Sprint round in 2027. Choose tickets according to the view and access you want, not only the address of a hospitality venue. Use Formula 1’s Monaco destination guide for broader city ideas, while checking the current event map for operations.
Portugal: the Algarve circuit is outside Portimão
The official Portugal race page confirms the June 18–20 round at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. Compare Faro, FAO, as an arrival airport, then investigate a Portimão or Lagos base according to your plans for the coast.
The circuit is a separate road journey from the beach towns. Do not assume a resort’s airport shuttle also serves the track. Confirm the promoter’s 2027 transport arrangements before booking around a bus stop or transfer time. A coastal extension works best with a few days after the race rather than a packed beach itinerary between sessions.
Silverstone: solve the final transport leg first
Silverstone is a rural circuit, not a central London attraction. Nearby towns and rail gateways can work well if they connect with the correct event transfer. Silverstone’s official access guide identifies nearby stations and airports, including Birmingham, Luton and Heathrow.
Milton Keynes, Northampton and other regional bases should be compared alongside the current race shuttle plan. Do not reuse a 2026 shuttle timetable for July 2–4, 2027. If driving, verify parking, approach routes and any vehicle-registration requirements. If camping, inspect facilities and weather preparation as carefully as the race ticket.
Austria, Belgium and Hungary: city name versus circuit location
Spielberg, Spa-Francorchamps and the Hungaroring each require attention to the circuit’s actual location. A large-city hotel can offer more choice but add a long daily transfer. A closer rural stay may reduce travel while limiting evening dining and public transport.
For Hungary, the venue is near Mogyoród outside Budapest. For Belgium, do not treat a booking in a distant city as a simple stadium commute without checking the organized transfer. Across these rounds, compare the outward and return journey, parking access, walking surfaces and rain cover before choosing between general admission and a grandstand.
Monza: Milan is a base, not the circuit
Milan offers a broad range of accommodation and airport choices, including Linate and Malpensa. The race is in Monza, with a final approach through the circuit area after the intercity journey. Plan the train, any shuttle and the walk as separate legs rather than assuming the station is your grandstand entrance.
September 3–5 is a Sprint weekend. A centrally located Milan hotel can support sightseeing, but a property near a useful rail connection may be more practical than one chosen only for nightlife. Check the 2027 event access plan and leave a buffer for the post-race crowd.
Madrid: book for the new Spanish host location
The official Spain race page identifies Madrid and Madring. The circuit is associated with the IFEMA area, so compare airport-side convenience with a central-city sightseeing base. Madrid-Barajas, MAD, is the relevant main airport search.
Do not buy flights to Barcelona simply because older Spanish Grand Prix guides focus there. The correct host city does not by itself establish which metro station or gate will serve your ticket. Wait for the promoter’s current access map and use it to refine the hotel-to-venue route.
Türkiye: keep the official condition visible
The Türkiye round is scheduled for October 1–3, subject to FIA circuit homologation. Preserve that qualification when making an early booking decision. A flexible hotel and flight arrangement may be more appropriate than assuming every operational detail is settled.
Istanbul Park is on the Asian side of the metropolitan area. Sabiha Gökçen, SAW, and Istanbul Airport, IST, lead to very different ground journeys. A stay in the historic European-side districts can make sense for sightseeing, but budget time for the circuit transfer and check official event transport before committing.
Singapore: gate choice shapes the hotel decision
Singapore’s race uses the Marina Bay area. Compare hotels around Marina Bay, City Hall and Bugis according to both price and the correct entry gate. A circuit fence or road closure can make the practical walking route longer than the straight-line distance.
Changi, SIN, is the main airport. Use the city’s transport network for wider planning, then verify late-night event operations. Expect time outdoors and prepare for warm, humid conditions and possible rain within the permitted-items rules. Formula 1’s Singapore destination guide provides ideas for a non-racing day.
Austin, Mexico City and São Paulo: three distinct trips
Austin’s Circuit of The Americas is outside the city center. Compare AUS flights and a hotel with the current official shuttle or parking plan. A downtown stay can work for food and music, but the track journey still needs a separate solution.
Mexico City and São Paulo also reward more than a fly-in race visit. Check the actual circuit entrance, neighborhood connection and final event transport rather than treating all urban venues alike. São Paulo’s November 5–7 weekend is a Sprint round. If adding another race from this sequence, price each flight and transfer; consecutive weekends are not automatically a simple multi-stop vacation.
Las Vegas: Thursday–Saturday, with a Saturday race
The November 18–20 weekend ends on Saturday, November 20. A standard Friday–Monday Grand Prix template can miss part of the event. Consider arriving Wednesday and departing Sunday or later, depending on the published session times and your appetite for a late finish.
Harry Reid International, LAS, is the main airport. Choose a hotel using the zone and gate attached to your ticket, not merely the nearest point on the Strip circuit. Temporary crossings and closures affect access. The Las Vegas travel guide helps with the wider stay; save any long desert excursion for a separate day when you are rested.
Qatar and Abu Dhabi: the December finish
Qatar races at Lusail on December 3–5; Abu Dhabi follows at Yas Marina on December 10–12. Both are Sprint weekends. They can form a two-race trip, but each needs its own ticket, hotel and transport plan, along with the relevant entry checks.
For Abu Dhabi, compare Zayed International Airport, AUH, and accommodation on Yas Island or elsewhere in Abu Dhabi. A Dubai airport or hotel adds a separate intercity journey and should not be treated as adjacent to Yas Marina. Choose your base according to the balance of racing and sightseeing, then verify late-session transport.
Tickets, grandstands and hospitality
Use Formula 1’s ticket shop or the race promoter linked from the official calendar. F1 Experiences offers a separate range of packages. Sales status differs across rounds: an on-sale race, a waitlist and an interest-registration page are not the same thing.
Compare the days included, seat allocation, covered or uncovered location, screen visibility and access zones. General admission may involve more standing and walking; a grandstand can offer a fixed seat but still require a long approach. Hospitality may include food or additional experiences, yet hotels and transfers are included only when expressly stated.
Do not choose solely from a photograph taken at another event. Confirm the 2027 seating plan and any construction changes. Check whether re-entry is permitted, whether children need tickets and how accessibility requests are handled. Ticket delivery, transfer and refund rules should be clear before payment.
A practical race-weekend planning sequence
First, choose the race and check the latest official date and any conditions. Next, identify a ticket product and a workable hotel-to-circuit route. Compare flights only after those pieces make sense together. An inexpensive airfare is not a bargain if the remaining accommodation is distant or the return transfer is impractical.
For a conventional Friday–Sunday weekend, Thursday arrival and Monday departure is a useful starting point. Add recovery time for a long-haul trip. For Las Vegas, shift the plan to reflect the Thursday–Saturday dates. Keep the departure flexible enough for a late finish, congestion and a slower morning after racing.
Set a budget covering ticket, flights, accommodation, transfers, food and a contingency. Our cheap-flight guide can help compare full journey costs. The Europe destinations guide is useful for extensions, but do not let a sightseeing route override the race’s transport constraints.
Pack for time outdoors and long walks, then apply the circuit’s current bag rules. Ear protection is sensible for a motorsport visit, especially for children. Check permitted water containers, rain protection and charging devices instead of assuming one circuit’s policy applies everywhere. The travel packing checklist is a starting point, not a substitute for venue rules.
